<b>128 Nemesis</b>: a very large and very dark main belt asteroid, of carbonaceous composition. It rotates rather slowly, taking about one and half Earth days to complete one revolution. Nemesis is the largest member of the Nemesian asteroid family bearing its name. Discovered by J. C. Watson on November 25, 1872 and named after Nemesis, the goddess of retribution in Greek mythology.<br /><br />14 Nov 2009, 07:56:27 - 09:25:58 UTC<br />Using G1, Clear filter, 18 x 180 sec exposure <br /><br /><center> <img src="http://tinyurl.com/ycmc4vw" alt="" border="0" /></center><br /><center><a href="http://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/sbdb.cgi?sstr=nemesis;orb=1;cov=0;log=0;cad=0#orb" target="_blank"><img src="http://tinyurl.com/y9rw6qd" alt="" border="0" /></a></center><br /><br />The asteroid (just below the central bright star <a href="http://tinyurl.com/ya9bxa9" target="_blank">TYC1877-1257-1</a>) can be just seen moving as it occults the fainter <a href="http://tinyurl.com/y8zu2z5" target="_blank">USNO J0613383+234224</a>.<br /><hr width="40%" align="left" size="1" class="hr" /><a href="http://macalchemist.net/yabb/Attachments/Nemesis_128.gif" target="_blank">Image link</a><hr width="40%" align="left" size="1" class="hr" />
