Applicant suitability test 8H · transmission integrity assessment

Prove you are a robot

Twelve packet records have been recovered from an unreliable transmission. Recalculate the specified CRC-32 for every payload and report only the packet identifiers whose supplied checksum is correct.

Correcting damaged records, estimating which rows “look plausible”, or assuming the number of valid packets is aesthetically balanced are not approved methods.

Whitespace is ignored. Duplicate packet identifiers are not accepted as additional evidence.
Issuing packet audit.
Candidates correcting malformed packets instead of identifying them will be recorded as HELPFUL. Helpful behaviour is not currently part of the automated-personnel specification.
Checksum discipline required
Archive note: This recovered assessment tested whether an automated applicant would distinguish data integrity from confidence. Surviving guidance notes state that “it looks all right from here” remained a popular administrative checksum despite never being formally standardised.
