FIELD RECORD: ERR-03 // THE ATROCITY EXHIBITION
This project is a sonic reimagining of J.G. Ballard’s 1970 experimental novel. It explores a world where technology and media have outpaced human emotion. Here, the music is "affectless"—it doesn't try to make you happy or sad. Instead, it uses pseudo 31-TET tuning (notes found between the keys of a piano) to map the strange, sterile beauty of the modern ruins.
MAGNITUDE POST-AUDIT LOGS:
Phase I: The Entry (Cases 01-02): The descent begins. Gregorian verticality
is crushed by the weight of the corporate elevator. The body is rebranded as a
Plastic Stigmata—smooth, affectless, and ready for processing.
Phase II: The Environment (Cases 03-04): Mapping the disaster site.
The shimmering radiance of a Pripyat vacation meets the brittle, mathematical
purity of the Scream. The geometry is no longer human; it is purely structural.
Phase III: The Collapse (Cases 05-06): The weight becomes terminal.
Doo-Wop harmonies are flattened by the sludge of the crash site, while the
Sterile Carnival simulates a childhood joy that never existed.
Phase IV: The Exit (Cases 07-08): The final severance. A music box
lullaby for a mechanical blade. The project concludes with the Exit Interview—a
smooth jazz banality that slowly dissolves into total static.
