Planetary Nebula LoTr5 (PN G339+88.1)
Longmore Tritton 5, Ra 12:55:33.75 Dec 25:53:30.6, in Coma Berenices. A very tricky one to image.
This is a combination of 5 x 600 sec exposures in OIII using G7 in Israel 12 Mar 2008 21:03:04 - 23:20:33 UTC.

Possibly easier to see in this inverted image
There is the faintest area of nebulosity around the central star, angular size around 8 arc min, which is in agreement with other observations. Unfortunately there is no discernable structure visible in these images [The nebula is not round or elliptical, but shows a two-lobed or possibly three-lobed morphology, as well as a peculiar hole-like feature east of the central star. There is definite east--west and slightly less definite north--south asymmetry[sup]1[/sup]] Here is an interesting paper[sup]2[/sup]
Apologies for the poor quality of the overlay, but the autoguider was off during this session due to its being unable to find any suitable guide stars.
