Auroral Display from Boscastle, Cornwall – 19 January 2026

This entry documents a significant auroral display observed from Boscastle, Cornwall on the evening of 19 January 2026, during a period of enhanced geomagnetic activity.

Although aurorae are rarely visible from this latitude, sustained geomagnetic disturbance allowed auroral emissions to develop clearly above the northern horizon. The coastal location provided an unobstructed view, enabling the evolution of the display to be followed over an extended period.

The event progressed through a combination of broad red auroral skyglow and structured green lower-level emissions, with changing geometry and extent visible over time.
